Over the past several days, we have been closely monitoring the Cal-Wood Fire, in partnership with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Firefighting crews have done an outstanding job containing the northern spread of the fire, but we know that wildfires can be unpredictable and we must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department has requested that we close our schools in Lyons to in-person learning for Tuesday and Wednesday, in the event the fire shifts direction, which may require additional evacuations.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. Comenzando el lunes 5 de octubre, estaremos implementando un programa de aprendizaje híbrido en persona para todos los estudiantes que no estén inscritos actualmente en el programa LaunchED. I have lived in Colorado for the past 26 years and taught preschool in the district for 8 years prior to teaching at Indian Peaks. I have a wonderful husband and four amazing children. I enjoy serving in the community in various capacities, camping, hiking, reading, and dancing. This past summer I was so excited because I had the opportunity to travel to Chino, Japan where I chaperoned a group of middle school and high school students with Longmont Sister Cities Association.
