Dear St. Vrain Valley Schools Community,

St. Vrain Students Get Early Integration of Technology

Students from St. Vrain Valley Schools' Innovation Center and Indian Peaks Elementary were recently featured on CBS 4 in Denver.


As the U.S. economy becomes more digitized, St. Vrain Valley School District has transformed it’s curriculum to emphasize STEM classes. District officials have integrated computers into every classroom. Students learn to innovate within the science, technology, engineering and math fields. And the district built an Innovation Center which emphasized project-based learning in partnership with business.

It has been an outstanding start to the academic year and I want to thank our students, families, teachers, staff and other partners for continuing to support St. Vrain Valley Schools’ drive for excellence in serving our community and advancing public education.

The start of a new academic year is one of my favorite times to visit our schools and talk with our students, families, teachers and staff. Our hallways are filled with a palpable optimism and drive to continue our momentum toward the highest levels of academic growth and success.

St. Vrain Valley Schools Launches New Initiative to Close the Word Gap

As St. Vrain Valley Schools continues to advance our programs that support our youngest learners, we are proud to announce a new partnership with the LENA Research Foundation and the OUR Center in Longmont that will prepare infants and toddlers (0-3 years) for school by encouraging parents to talk and engage more with their children.

Summer in St. Vrain

As the countdown to summer winds down, students and teachers across the district are gearing up for camp season and it’s not too late to sign up. 
 
Performing arts, financial literacy and STEM camps are among the district’s summer programs that still have openings.

Changes to the 2017-2018 School Schedule

As we look ahead to the start of the next school year, there will be some changes to our 2017-2018 school schedule that we’d like to share in order for you and your student to prepare for the upcoming year.

St. Vrain schools are exploring new methods in Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are looking much different these days.

Five of the district’s schools, Indian Peaks, Columbine and Northridge Elementary schools, Longs Peak Middle School and Timberline PK-8, are rolling out supportive, community-oriented “Classroom Conferences” to rave reviews, replacing those awkward one-to-one meetings.

Title 1 schools, which have 40 percent or more of their students from low-income households, receive supplementary government funding to enhance their instructional programs.
