Thanks to partnerships with the GLOBE Program, Discovery Education, and the Education Foundation for the St. Vrain Valley, students are following SVVSD students and teachers while they make the trek to the tallest mountain in Africa’s summit.

The Kilimanjaro Learning Xpedition’s mission is to introduce students around the world to science research taking place by students on Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. Students will be tasked to explore the many ecosystems of Kilimanjaro and then answer the question; What is it like where you live? While taking part in this science project, students will have the opportunity to interact with team members virtually from the mountain by asking questions and taking part in LIVE webinars.

Teachers are also incorporating a design challenge alongside the study to create a way to carry supplies while hiking Kilimanjaro.
