Over the past several days, we have been closely monitoring the Cal-Wood Fire, in partnership with the Boulder Office of Emergency Management and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Firefighting crews have done an outstanding job containing the northern spread of the fire, but we know that wildfires can be unpredictable and we must remain vigilant and prepared for any changes to the fire’s activity. Out of an abundance of caution, the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department has requested that we close our schools in Lyons to in-person learning for Tuesday and Wednesday, in the event the fire shifts direction, which may require additional evacuations.
Beginning Monday, October 5, we will be implementing a hybrid in-person learning schedule for all students who are not currently enrolled in the LaunchED program. Click here to learn more. Comenzando el lunes 5 de octubre, estaremos implementando un programa de aprendizaje híbrido en persona para todos los estudiantes que no estén inscritos actualmente en el programa LaunchED. This term, the Indian Peaks Parent Leadership Team has decided to focus their efforts of increasing family involvement in the area of Math, specifically in the area of math facts. Two Family Math Nights were hosted last week: Tuesday, Jan. 12th and Thursday, Jan. 14th from 6-7:15 pm. About 50 families participated in the event! The school supplyied materials for teachers and parents to lead games families could use to help their master their facts. Parents were encouraged to learn the math games without their children to fully engage in its content. Students participated in other math activities separate from their parents. All games were developed to be taken home to work on with students. This was the first of a few parent nights Indian Peaks will be having this year focusing on Math.
Stay posted for the next event! All are welcome!
